If you’ve seen or heard about the roller derby slasher Murderdrome or the female wrestling zombie fight movie From Parts Unknown: Fight Like a Girl or most recently the sci-fi action flick Sheborg Massacre, then you’ll know what the production company behind all of those lo-fi efforts, Strongman Pictures, is all about. DIY! Led from all fronts by Daniel Armstrong, the company’s upcoming effort looks like it’s going to be taking it up a notch with the release of the teaser trailer for Tarnation (and it has nothing to do with 2003’s diary doc of the same name by Jonathan Caouette).
As per their previous efforts, the film is a cross genre hybrid, described as a ‘demon-unicorn-cabin-in-the-woods-twisted-fairy-tale-monster-horror-adventure.’
Featuring many of the cast that have graced previous Strongman efforts, including lead actress Daisy Masterman as Oscar, Emma Louise Wilson as Wheels, Danae Swinburne as Rain, Blake Waldron as Wilmer, Joshua Diaz as Bo, Mitchell Brotz as the Stoned Guy, and Sean McIntyre as The Band’s Manager, with the band played by Melbourne stalwarts The Mercy Kills.
The pre-Halloween launch of the teaser also marks the unveiling of Tom Hodge’s poster art for the film. The film is about to complete its shoot and will look to release in 2017.
