Mother’s Day didn’t seem to bother the top 3, though, perhaps, that’s why Tina maintained its screen average in Week 2 – or it could just be the phenomenal word of mouth on this crowd-pleaser from New Zealand [Australians love Kiwi films, but just quietly, it’s not reciprocated]. The re-release of Joe Wright’s Pride and Prejudice [with Succession‘s Matthew Macfadyen as Mr Darcy] was certainly all about Mother’s Day and it delivered generously with a $3k screen average on 1 day! Mum wasn’t as keen to revisit Hoges in the Encore Cut of Crocodile Dundee, [maybe we still hold a grudge against Linda Kozlowski breaking up Hoges’ long marriage to Noeline…] or Marta Dusseldorp as an unhinged matron in With or Without You.
