On Friday 7 August 9am AEST (Thursday 6 August 4pm PDT) Women in Film and Television (WIFT) Victoria will be hosting State of Screen, an exclusive fireside chat with two of Hollywood’s most iconic filmmakers – Paul Feig (Founder of Feigco Entertainment, Pretty Dangerous Pictures, and Powderkeg Media) and Laura Fischer (President of Feigco Entertainment, Pretty Dangerous Pictures, and CEO of Powderkeg Media).
State of Screen is a virtual event designed to give women and gender diverse creatives real world insights from screen experts on the challenges facing screen practitioners, and what the future may hold. This special conversation and Q&A will explore how emerging and established producers, directors and writers can better work within an industry that has undergone dramatic change in recent years.
This is a WIFT Victoria members-only event. Screen professionals and emerging creatives are encouraged to join WIFT Victoria to attend the session, to support their mission to empower, educate, advocate, and improve industry outcomes for women and gender diverse creatives.
From President of WIFT Victoria, Lauren Simpson – “We are thrilled to have Paul and Laura join us to share their expertise and insights with our WIFT Vic members. They have worked tirelessly to elevate and improve gender and cultural equity on our screens for decades, and can speak to the current challenges and opportunities in our global screen industry better than most. We love Paul and Laura and can’t wait to bring their brilliance to our members.”
