Not Dark Yet is a meditation on the yearning we feel later in life. It’s about familial obligation and the desire to be free, told through the prism of the aged care system. The film explores what it means to be physically caught at a stand-still, while life and its propulsive energy goes on without you.

Russell (Richard Moir – Heatwave, In Search of Anna, Round the Twist) is caught in the monotony of the aged care system. His son, Luke (Nicholas Denton – Glitch Matchbox Picture, Dangerous Liaisons Starz/Lionsgateis torn between the love he has for his ailing father, and the desire to live his life.

Directed by Bonnie Moir (We’re Not Here), Not Dark Yet is a moving film about the darker aspects of love and family.

NOT DARK YET will be screening on August 11th at ACMI tickets available https://miff.com.au/program/film/not-dark-yet
