Melbourne’s home of unique theatrical events, Cinema Nova welcomes bestselling author, filmmaker, and cult icon GREG SESTERO, back to Carlton to screen 2003’s ‘best worst film of all time’, THE ROOM – and share fresh details about the movie phenomenon at a live in-cinema Q&A, celebrating 15 years of the film screening in Australia.
To celebrate 15 years of cult classic THE ROOM playing at Cinema Nova since it was first introduced to unsuspecting audiences in 2010, star Greg Sestero will be live at Cinema Nova on Sunday August 3 at 3.20pm and Tuesday August 5 at 6.30pm.
With his New York Times bestselling biography having been adapted into A24’s Oscar-nominated feature The Disaster Artist, Greg has recently participated in a straight remake of Tommy Wiseau’s original ‘disasterpiece’ (starring Bob Odenkirk in the role of Johnny), directed a series of original feature films from across the genre spectrum, and is currently developing a stage adaptation of The Disaster Artist with well-known musical artists.
R.T. Thorne’s debut feature 40 ACRES is releasing exclusively at Cinema Nova on August 14. A post-apocalyptic thriller starring Oscar-nominee Danielle Deadwyler (The Piano Lesson), 40 ACRES premiered at Toronto International Film Festival to widespread acclaim. In a world troubled by food scarcity, a family of Canadian farmers descended from American Civil War refugees defend their homestead against outsiders attempting to seize their resources.
40 ACRES joins a diverse list of quality films – including the currently-screening ON SWIFT HORSES starring Australia’s Jacob Elordi – to exclusively release theatrically at Cinema Nova.
