Melbourne Queer Film Festival attracts tens of thousands of festival-goers annually and is recognised internationally as an important platforms for queer cinema in the world. The festival runs yearly in November. It’s most recent festival in November 2022 featured over 120 feature films, documentaries and shorts from Australia and internationally.

The Program Director is responsible for the artistic vision of the festival, drawing together a program of work that is a celebration of the LGBTQI+ community’s diversity and a reflection of its evolving journey.

The role also works closely with the film sector and the queer film-making community, helping support the growth of home-made queer content. The Program Director manages the MQFF awards and prizes, as well as the festival’s Pitch Pleez! competition.
