Julie commences with Sanctuary Pictures on Wednesday 1 March and will be attending AIDC.
Julie Ryan has produced 15 feature films during her career including award-winning films such as action thriller HOTEL MUMBAI, family films H IS FOR HAPPINESS and RED DOG, comedy horror 100 BLOODY ACRES, and iconic films such as TEN CANOES and THE TRACKER. Films that she’s produced have been selected into every major international film festival in the world including Cannes, Berlin, Venice, Sundance, Toronto and SXSW, and she has been nominated eight times for Best Film at the AACTA awards, winning twice for RED DOG and TEN CANOES. For the past two years Ryan worked at the South Australian Film Corporation as the Production Executive.
Ari Harrison is the General Manager at Umbrella Entertainment. As one of Australia’s leading independent film distributors, Umbrella manages rights for film content spanning multiple platforms, including Theatrical, VOD, Home Entertainment, TV and Ancillary. In his role as the company’s General Manager, Ari is across all of these areas, with specific emphasis on determining the financial and artistic viability of both local and international productions for theatrical release. He also maintains Umbrella’s strong ties with the Australian, New Zealand and International film community through the ongoing acquisition and support of domestic titles.
Ari is an Executive and Co-Producer on various Australian feature films including upcoming; TALK TO ME (Sundance 2023) , THE SURVIVAL OF KINDNESS (Berlin 2023) and upcoming projects SPEEDWAY, THE MOOGAI and TIME ADDICTS. His previous Executive Producer credits include 2067 (Kodi Smit-McPhee, Ryan Kwanten) and Netflix Original MEASURE FOR MEASURE (Hugo Weaving). Ari has been involved in the development, financing, production and distribution of all titles as an Executive producer.
