NZ Series Amy Street Wins Melbourne WebFest Grand Jury Prize

The fifth iteration of the online content festival has wrapped.

The New Zealand documentary series Amy Street won the $1500 Melbourne WebFest grand Jury Prize on Sunday night, capping off four days of some of the world’s best online screen content. Some 50 web series were screened over the course of the festival, making it the biggest event of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere.

Other works feted at the  awards night hosted by Greta Lee Jackson and Liam Seymour included Goober (Best Australian Comedy), Doodles (Best Australian Animation), No Strings Attached (Best Australian Non-Fiction), and Bruce (Best Screenplay). Mental health drama High Life scored three awards: Best Australian Drama, Best Director and Best Supporting Actor.

Meanwhile, the Pitch iview Award went to Tim Potter for his pitch, Waiting.
