Richard E. Williams’ independent horror feature arrives through Umbrella Entertainment following an international festival run, with a North American theatrical release also planned.

The official trailer for DEAD EYES, the Australian horror feature shot entirely in first-person POV, has been released ahead of its October 28 VOD launch through Umbrella Entertainment.

Written, directed, produced and edited by Brisbane filmmaker Richard E. Williams, the 81-minute feature was independently produced in South East Queensland. Told entirely through its protagonist’s perspective, the film follows a search for a missing father that leads to a disturbing discovery deep in the Australian bush.

DEAD EYES made its world premiere in the Visions section at SXSW 2026, followed by screenings at Fantastic Film Festival Australia, Gold Coast Film Festival and London’s FrightFest. It was also awarded Scariest Film at Brazil’s Fantaspoa.

“We’ve taken Dead Eyes around the world. It was a crazy film to make and a crazier one to watch, so I’m happy to finally bring it home for Australian horror fans,” says Williams.
