This week’s new releases were no match for animation blockbusters Despicable Me 4 (which has finally landed in the top spot, increasing its screen average from last weekend in the process) and Inside Out 2. That said, Twisters opened promisingly, whilst MaXXXine and Kinds of Kindness opened too wide (though, what’s the alternative these days?!) and Fly Me to the Moon did ok, and Sony will be hoping that word of mouth spreads fast and that it may just be the counter programming that the multiplexes were looking for with this Thursday’s big release, Deadpool & Wolverine.
