Holy cow.
DC/Warner are using shock and awe tactics to just decimate San Diego Comic Con, and perhaps their most devastating salvo is this: a Wonder Woman trailer that looks flat-out amazing.
Everything about this is note perfect: the period detail, the costumes, the colour palette, the narrative rhythm of the whole thing, the contrast of Paradise Island/Themyscira to the muddy, bloody battlefields of World War One France – everything works.
And the glimpses of action we get: an Amazonian cavalry charge against WWI soldiers, Wonder Woman taking part in a fixed-bayonet infantry attack, a mortar shell parried with a shield!
And in the centre of it all, Gal Gadot just owning it. It’s wonderful stuff.
Wonder Woman arrives in June, 2017. We’ll be there.
