For a guy who got his start writing on SNL, co-founding Funny or Die, and directing Will Ferrell movies, Adam McKay certainly turned a sharp corner when he directed The Big Short. Now he continues in that trajectory with this take on Dick Cheney, a guy who is still very much alive and connected to the world of US politics, and who will no doubt be strategising his response as the film’s Christmas release approaches. Australia will see the film from Boxing Day, 2018.
In this first look trailer, Christian Bale transforms as Cheney, while Sam Rockwell adopts the ticks and mannerisms of George W. Bush in a story that will invariably focus on the pair’s ‘war on terror’.
