And even though it looks like the cinema industry is slowly shifting towards TV shows and streaming, there are enough titles to look forward to. Join us in analysing what 2019 still holds in store in terms of sequels, new movies and unexpected surprises from Hollywood.
Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw
Now, here’s an interesting turn of events. It’s no longer a secret that Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has immense potential in every Hollywood movie he stars. It’s not surprising that Universal made the decision to spin his character from the Fast and Furious franchise and set it in a new environment alongside Jason Statham. Directed by the guy responsible for John Wick, Deadpool 2 and Atomic Blonde, we can be sure to see a lot of high-intensity action. While the trailers don’t show too much, with The Rock and Jason Statham we can always expect to get a high-octane version of buddy-cop action. The movie premieres on the 1st of August and if you’re a big fan of Fast and Furious, you shouldn’t miss a seat for this one.
The Angry Birds Movie 2
It was back in 2016 when the first Angry Birds movie performed well in movie theaters all over the world. We must admit, we didn’t think that they will be able to pull it off because turning a mobile game with no narrative into a long film isn’t the easiest task in the world. However, the success of Angry Birds was enough to make the creators try their luck a second time around. While nobody knows what to expect from this second part, the voices of Peter Dinklage, Bill Hader and Rachel Bloom are sure to keep you entertained. Make sure not to make plans for September 12 when it’s released in Australian cinemas.
It Chapter Two
All Stephen King fans that had the guts to watch IT in 2017 were quick to underline that the movie doesn’t tell the full story that is depicted in the novel. The follow-up will take us 30 years later than the action in the first part, where all the characters are now grown-ups. The cast includes James McAvoy, Jessica Chastain and Bill Hader. They’re determined to take down the shape shifting clown that goes by the name of Pennywise. Get ready for a chill and a good scare when IT Chapter Two premieres in cinemas on September 5.
After its immense success as a TV series, the hit UK drama that follows the lives of a fictional Yorkshire estate tries its luck on the big screen. The fans of the series will be glad to see some of its original cast appearing in the movie as well as some newcomers. Julian Fellowes is the producer for the film, with TV veteran Michael Engler directing. The fans of the genre are surely going to enjoy seeing how the story is reinterpreted and everyone will be able to give feedback after September 12 when this production hits the big screens.
Were you longing for a good Will-Smith movie? Gemini Man is a fresh sci-fi thriller that tells the story of an assassin intending to end his career. It’s a very interesting premise that sees the assassin meeting a younger clone of himself. Ang Lee is the director and Will Smith is joined by the likes of Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Clive Owen. The movie premiers on October 10 and all Will Smith fans will be thrilled to see their favourite actor once again.
Of course, the list of movies that are prepared for the second half of 2019 goes on and we also have the new Joker among the titles that are going to amaze us until the year is over. However, choosing the titles to focus on is a real gamble as everyone has different taste when it comes to their favourite movies. It’s actually a lot easier to just enjoy real money online pokies and be successful at it than doing a list of the most-awaited movies to make everyone happy.
