A slick and twisty Sydney-set kidnapping thriller, Intersection tracks one edge-of-the-seat night in the life of an extortionist who discovers his own son is abducted, forced to complete an escalating series of trials to appease his child’s captor, and atone for his life of deception.
Starring Matt Doran (The Matrix, The Thin Red Line, Home and Away), Intersection was produced by Symmetry Media and cub films – headed up by James Carr and Dean Ginsburg – and Snorkel Studios’ Sean O’Reilly, in collaboration with director Samuel Bartlett’s Lucky Films banner.
“Given the current economic conditions and the reduced focus on content quotas in the broadcast space, our arrangement with Channel Nine is a great outcome,” comments O’Reilly about the free-to-air sale. He says that they are also on the lookout for a local VOD home for the film, as well as explore domestic virtual screenings.
“We’re delighted to be partnering with Breaking Glass Pictures on the release of the film internationally,” adds producer and Symmetry Media CEO, James Carr. “We can’t wait to share Matt Doran’s tense performance, as he portrays the lengths a parent will go to, to get their child back.”
The same collective are also at work on a production slate, with the producing team from Symmetry Media and cub films currently shooting a feature documentary and financing a horror film.
Sean O’Reilly is also currently producing a sci-fi film with co-writer/director Gary Eck, as well as developing a feature project with Joel Perlgut (Sad Sachs).
