2011’s Red Dog was a true delight: an Aussie heart-warmer boasting vivid characters, gorgeous visuals, a bawl-inducing denouement, and a canine star every bit as charming as big guns like Lassie, Benji, and even C.H.O.M.P.S. Red Dog also gave the box office’s leg a good ol’ humping, and the film still stands as one of this country’s biggest hits. And now the prequel, Red Dog: True Blue, is just around the corner. The creative team behind the original Red Dog film – director, Kriv Stenders; producer, Nelson Woss; and writer, Daniel Taplitz – are all back for the new installment, which follows eleven-year-old, Mick (Pan’s Levi Miller), who is shipped off to his grandfather’s (Bryan Brown) cattle station in the remote Pilbara region of Western Australia. The young lad steels himself for a life of dull hardship, but instead finds myth, adventure, and friendship with a scrappy, one-of-a-kind dog that will change his life forever. Red Dog: True Blue also stars Jason Isaacs, Hanna Mangan Lawrence, and Thomas Cocquerel, and will also introduce a new canine star named Phoenix. Check out the film’s poster and first still below.
Hi there! Are you still filming Red Dog true blue??
The reason I decided to contact you is that I do have a beautiful “Red Dog” called Blue… he is 3 and half years old. Blue is a Legend of a dog, and he is so friendly (he still have his balls, no operation done). Anyway, if you might need my dog Blue foa a shot with Red Dog… maybe playing, maybe meeting…. or something else, feel free to contact me for more info and photos of Blue, because his eye contact looks the same as the dog from the first Red Dog movie. Looking forward to rear from you. Kind regards, Cris and Dan
