Radioactive Pictures is thrilled to announce the upcoming release of one of its latest acquisitions, Carnal Vessels – a darkly comedic and refreshingly original take on romance, identity, and self-discovery. Directed and written by Angus Kirby, the film follows two friends whose casual fling takes a bizarre turn when they mysteriously swap bodies, forcing them to confront their own identities, desires, and unexpected revelations in ways they never imagined.
Following its successful festival debut at the 2025 Gold Coast Film Festival, Carnal Vessels is set to hit the big screen with a limited run of special theatrical engagements in Melbourne and Brisbane. Each screening will include exclusive Q&A sessions with members of the cast and crew, offering audiences an inside look into the making of this daring indie gem.

Jessica Butland, Managing Director of Radioactive Pictures, expressed her excitement for the film’s upcoming festival premiere and wider release: “We love films that push boundaries, and Carnal Vessels does so with wicked humor, heart, and just the right amount of existential horror. It’s smart, it’s hilarious, and it’s going to hit audiences in all the right (and wrong) ways.”
Director/Writer Angus Kirby and Producer Mihir Chakrapani, share their thoughts ahead of the film’s release. “We’re overjoyed people will be able to see Carnal Vessels and the work the cast and crew put into the film. Thanks to Radioactive Pictures for having us and taking bold swings in Australian film. Please watch it with your parents for the optimal viewing experience.”
Strap in. It’s weird, it’s wild, and it’s wonderfully inappropriate in all the best ways.
