Monster Pictures Distribution is thrilled to announce that production has wrapped on the Australian possession horror, DIABOLIC, written by Mike Harding and Daniel J. Phillips (Awoken), and directed by Phillips.
As the ANZ distributors, Monster Pictures Distribution is excited to bring DIABOLIC to cinemas next year, where horror fans can experience it where it belongs, on the big screen.
Grant Hardie from Monster Pictures shares his excitement about the film: “Our mission has always been to support local filmmakers and deliver thrilling horror to audiences around Australia, so we’re extremely pleased to bring DIABOLIC to Australian theatres and strongly believe it will make its mark alongside recent Australian horror successes.”
DIABOLIC follows Elise, played by Elizabeth Cullen (Elvis), a woman who joins a healing ceremony led by the Fundamentalist Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) to cure her mysterious blackouts. Unbeknownst to them, the ritual releases the vengeful spirit of a witch, sparking a terrifying chain of events.
DIABOLIC also stars John Harlan Kim (The Little Things) as Elise’s husband, Adam, and Mia Challis (Outer Banks) as her best friend, Gwen.
“We’ve packed every frame with pure dread and crafted a relentless, unsettling experience. This is the kind of horror that lingers long after it’s over,” said Phillips.
Produced by Silvio Salom of Sunjive Studios, Grant Hardie, Mark Patterson, and Phillips, DIABOLIC represents the next wave of elevated genre films from Australia.
Film Bridge International (FBI) will reveal the first footage of DIABOLIC to buyers at the upcoming American Film Market (AFM), with FBI’s Jordan Dykstra describing DIABOLIC as “exactly the type of elevated horror content the global market is hungry for. We’re excited to present it at AFM.”
