Let’s see what we’ve got here: a shared house full of attractive 20-somethings trying to figure their lives out, sex, drugs, booze, infidelity, the odd existential crisis… we’re an early Nick Cave song and a stray lamb away from Dogs in Space. But that’s okay – everyone gets a period in their life like this, and that’s why this template is such a sturdy one.
From writer and director JJ DeCeglie (the criminally underseen Jugular) comes Can’t Win. Do Try, which sees a young man (Harry Quinlan) somehow convince his fiancee (Adrianne Daff) to turn their freshly-purchased home into a bachelor pad for a ear until they get married. Into the mix comes a new housemate (Matt Furlani), whose antics upset the the house dynamic. Hijinks presumably ensue.
Shot in Perth, the film co-stars Christopher Millington, Tanya Jade, Matt Fur, Fiannah de Rue, Chris Reid, Harry Quinlan, CJ Hampson, Chelsea Gibson and Aimee Nicholls. Expect it to hit screens later this year – in the meantime keep track of developments via the official FB page.
