Smashing 10million+ views across various sites and social media within a fortnight, this extended teaser – essentially the opening scene – certainly shows promise. That said, the original feature film was a phenomenon online and was released into cinemas to modest fanfare, possibly due to the fact that online noise doesn’t always equate to bums on seats – and unfortunately too often it leads to piracy.
With the appropriately named stuntie/actress Nandalie Killick breaking out of the doctor’s lair (a scenario not too dissimilar to the opening of the feature film), we are introduced to the possibilities of an expanded Wyrmwood universe. Where the series will end up airing is still up for grabs, but we’ll certainly be tuning in.
thanks for the write-up! … Wyrmwood actually did pretty good at putting bums on seats.. for a one day only release, figures were solid: ranked at #6 at the Aussie box on its night and sold out Moonlight cinema.. not bad for a micro-budget Aussie indie horror..!
