Box Office Report: August 3 – 6, 2023

Read time: Less 1 min
Not even a sequel about a giant shark starring Jason Statham could topple Barbenheimer, which continues to fill cinemas into its third week. It's going to be one hell of a year for Universal... And just to prove that Disney doesn't have the midas touch (and that the arthouse sector is all but extinct), despite positive reviews across the board and production qualities bar none, Chevalier didn't even make the top 10 in week 1 of release. Meanwhile, closer to home, Talk to Me enjoyed one of the lowest drops in box office (only 15%) this week, signalling a very long run for the frightener.
