Netflix have acquired the rights to Pacific Heat, the latest offering from the Aussie comedy legends* over at Working Dog Productions. Here in Australia, the 13 part series will air on Foxtel late in the year, but the streaming giant will be flinging it at subscribers in the US, UK, Canada and Ireland from December 2.

Created by Santo Cilauro, Tom Gleisner and Rob Sitch, Pacific Heat is a satire of cop shows, following an elite unit who take on crime on Queensland’s Gold Coast. The A-Team, Hawaii Five-O and Charlie’s Angels have been cited as reference points, but really, the most obvious influence here would, of course, be Archer. Whether it stacks up against its influences is something we’ll learn later in the year.

*Apart from Any Questions for Ben?, but everyone gets one pass.
