Box Office Report: July 20 – 23, 2023

It's ironic that Christopher Nolan's last film Tenet saw him depart his highly successful relationship with Warner Bros., due to their priority for streaming, and now he returns, released in Australia by the same company that looks after Warner Bros. here, Universal, to be beaten for the top spot by a Warner Bros. release, Barbie. We're certain that Nolan and everyone involved with both movies, and cinema lovers around the world, are overjoyed to see audiences streaming into cinemas this past weekend - the lines for both films remind us of the fervour for The Godfather, Jaws and Star Wars back in the day, which changed cinema forever. Let's hope Barbenheimer does that for the better.
