As we reported, it looks like the new Australian film, Berlin Syndrome, will be heading direct to streaming around the world, except Australia where eOne will release the film on April 20, 2017.

And here we have a localised trailer, which shows off the film as not just your regular hostage thriller but a unique approach to the male/female dynamic. Based on the novel of the same name by Melanie Joosten, it follows an Australian girl (Teresa Palmer) romanced by a young Berliner (Max Riemelt from Sense8), who ends up keeping her captive in his apartment. Erk. The interesting aspect of it will, of course, be that it’s told from the female perspective, something that we don’t often get in drama. That said, who remembers The Book of Revelation?
