Remember The Exorcist: Believer? David Gordon Green was all set to continue helming the expansion of the franchise, but, you know, it wasn’t very good. In steps Mike Flanagan, who recently reimagined Carries, now writing and directing this expansion on the William Peter Blatty universe, though we are not quite sure how yet. [as an aside, was The Pope’s Exorcist also part of the WPB Universe?] As it is, this is a serial killer movie, with Scarlett Johansson a storied cop who is brought back by the devil to solve further inexplicable crimes. Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Leguizamo, Scoot McNairy, Sasha Calle, Gil Bellows, Laurence Fishburne and Jacobi Jupe also star.
