“Who would win in a fight between Riddick and Xander Cage? Man, that would be no contest,” Vin Diesel once laughed to FilmInk, his voice a low-ebb rumble and his dark eyes hidden behind tinted shades. “Riddick would kill him! He’s a total badass!” Okay, so Diesel’s extreme sports super-spy might be a pussy compared to his intergalactic fugitive, Riddick, but he can still hold his own. And after sitting out xXx: State Of The Union – the Ice Cube-starring sequel to his 2002 hit – Vin Diesel is back amongst the action in xXx: Return Of Xander Cage. Though Oscars are unlikely (Diesel is reserving those aspirations for his Fast & Furious films), this looks like a goofy action belter of the first order, and features a rock solid, savvily international supporting cast in Samuel L. Jackson (reprising his role as Agent Augustus Eugene Gibbons), martial arts legends, Donnie Yen and Tony Jaa; Indian superstar, Deepika Padukone; rising starlet, Nina Dobrev; and in-demand Aussies, Ruby Rose and Toni Collette.
