Celebrating the incredible 40 year career of the beloved animation studio, the exhibition Wallace & Gromit and friends: The magic of Aardman will be presented by the Australian Centre for the Moving Inmage (ACMI) as part of the Melbourne Winter Masterpieces series.

Aardman, of course, are the charming British clay-fondlers behind such perennial favourites as Shaun the Sheep and Chicken Run, as well their flagship duo, bumbling inventor Wallace and his faithful dog, Gromit.

Fans can expect to see sketchbooks, concept drawings and storyboards from their favourite shows and movies, plus film screenings, talks, interactive workshops and education programs. The exhibition boasts more than 350 objects including original artworks; over 50 set pieces such as Wallace’s Cracking Contraptions and Gromit’s famous vegetable garden; Shaun the Sheep sets; the flying machine from Chicken Run; and the spectacular 5-metre tall ship from The Pirates! Band of Misfits. Exclusive to ACMI will be additional artworks from the studio’s forthcoming feature film Early Man due for release in 2018.

The exhibition runs from June 29 – October 29, 2017. For more info, shoot over to the ACMI website.
