Set in the Appalachian Mountains, Peak follows Jacob (Hopper Penn) as he tries to escape the patriarchal clutches of his violent, meth-dealing father (Billy Bob Thorton).
The Devil’s Peak is an adaptation of David Joy’s crime thriller novel Where All Light Tends to Go. Joy handled the adaptation, with co-writing from Robert Knott (Appaloosa).
Hopper Penn is the son of acting royalty Sean Penn and Robin Wright, who also appears in the film, marking her first on-screen collaboration with her son. Also in the cast are Jackie Earl Hayley, Emma Booth, Katelyn Nacon (The Walking Dead), and Brian d’Arcy James (Spotlight).
The film is set to Premiere in U.S. cinemas on February 17, 2023, and a digital release is to follow on February 24th, 2023. An Australian release date will be announced soon.
