Science Fiction Volume One: The Osiris Child, the new film from Shane Abbess (Gabriel, Infini) will screen at Fantastic Fest, the US’s biggest genre film festival, in Austin Texas, later this month.

Starring Kellan Lutz, Isabel Lucas, Daniel MacPherson and Temuera Morrision, the film is set “…a time of interplanetary colonization” when “…an unlikely pair race against an impending global crisis and are confronted by the monsters that live inside us all.”

The Fantastic Fest press release has a more informal synopsis:

“A far-future military contractor – and moderately shitty father – must race to save his daughter when his employer’s negligence puts her in the path of a rampaging alien race.”

The Osiris Child joins an already impressive roster of screenings and events at Fantastic Fest 2016. Bruce Campbell will be on hand to introduce the first two episodes of Ash vs Evil Dead Season 2, and the first episode of HBO’s much-anticipated Westworld will debut. Polish mermaid/horror/musical The Lure, recently seen at MIFF, is screening, as is Another WolfCop, the sequel to the cult Canadian horror/comedy, WolfCop, and many more.

Fantastic Fest runs from September 22 – 29. For more info, hit the official site.
