Semi Permanent Sydney 2019, a 3-day event that is part of the annual Vivid Festival, is all about design, with representatives from organisations such as Instagram, The New York Times, Deus Ex Machina, Levi Strauss and Google, but if you look closer you will find some truly inspiring creatives also on board.

This year’s keynote speakers include Alma Har’el of Free the Bid, which represents women filmmakers in advertising, film and TV, and Erica Dorn, a London based graphic designer who played a major hand in working with Wes Anderson on his most recent stop motion film, Isle of Dogs. Additionally, you have Mark Woollen, who created the trailers for the likes of A Star is Born, The Favourite, Blackkklansman and Roma, and the Emmy Award-winning Title Directors of True Detective, The Crown and WestworldPatrick Clair and Raoul Marks. And to top it off, French visionary Michel Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) will discuss his life’s work via a video link from his LA home whilst he works on his current project.

Relevant for design professionals and fans in general, Semi Permanent Sydney 2019 is on between May 23 – 25 at Carriageworks. More information at their website, https://www.semipermanent.com/
