Get ready for RUN CLUB, a fast-paced and hilariously dark digital series premiering on Instagram Reels this December. Produced by Motley Content as part of Screen Queensland’s Channel Lab: Short Cuts initiative, this five-part series is sure to leave you in stitches!
With its release, co-creators Grace Julia and Nikki Brown – the hive-mind comedy duo behind viral vertical shows Let’s Get Ducking Famous and My Girlfriend is Worm – are set to launch their joint venture, Laughlines.
About the series:
When members of a hit new run club start disappearing, founder Nat (played by Ruby Blue’s rising star, Natyse Chan) is in a race against time to solve the mystery. She suspects her best friend and housemate Tash, (YouTube’s Emily Kristopher of CrackerMilk) and decides to take matters into her own hands. After all, what happens in Run Club, stays in Run Club.
A star-studded pack:
With a cast of fresh Aussie talent ready to take the baton, RUN CLUB features Jane Larkin (Boy Swallows Universe), Ryan Wahanga (Young Rock), Rijen Laine (Tidelands, In Our Blood), Mitch Marion (In Our Blood, Drag Race UK), Cynthia Taylu (Love Island) and UK import Kriss Dillon (Eat, Love London), whose eccentric characters you’ll love to hate.
Brisbane’s brown snake steals the spotlight:
Set against a stunning backdrop of Brisbane’s most Instagrammable riverfront locations, RUN CLUB will deliver next-level visuals crafted by director Grace Julia’s long-term collaborator, multi ACS award-winning Director of Photography, Kevin Khang.
Join the race!
