Ritz Cinemas, Randwick will be the exclusive location in Australia screening Brady Corbet’s epic, award-winning masterpiece The Brutalist in spectacular 70mm from Thursday 23 January, 2025, with a 70mm preview presentation on Saturday 11 January.
The three-plus-hour epic, directed by Corbet and starring Adrien Brody, was filmed in VistaVision, a high-resolution format with a wider field of view, allowing for enhanced clarity when projected in 70mm. The movie carries 6.5 kilometres of celluloid film, which weighs almost 120 kilograms.
The film follows a visionary architect and Holocaust survivor who attempts to rebuild his life in post-war America. Initially forced to toil in poverty, László soon wins a contract that changes the course of his life.
The film will be screened with an intermission and tickets to 70mm sessions will include a limited edition commemorative collectible brochure showcasing the work of László Toth, the fictional architect played by Brody, who is at the centre of the film, while supplies last.

Anora Screens in 35mm Exclusively at the Ritz from Boxing Day
Anora, the Palme d’Or-winning triumph from filmmaker Sean Baker (The Florida Project, Tangerine) will screen in 35mm at Ritz Cinemas, Randwick from Boxing Day. The Ritz is the exclusive location screening the film in celluloid in Australia.
The film, which is garnering significant awards season attention, follows a sex worker from Brooklyn who gets her chance at a Cinderella story when she meets and marries the son of an oligarch. Once the news reaches Russia, her fairytale is threatened as the parents set out for New York to get the marriage annulled.
