Narrated by Oscar Award-winning Actress Laura Dern, The Endangered Generation? is a documentary film that explores the critical issue of climate change and its impact on future generations. Through interviews with experts, activists, and young people from around the world, the film explores the urgent need to take action to protect our planet.

Directed by Celeste Greer, The Endangered Generation? was made in partnership with Monash University and marks the first collaboration with a client to produce a long-form documentary. Sweetshop is known for producing award-winning commercials, films, and branded content – while Sweetshop & Green are a production company focused on producing local film and television for global audiences.

Monash University provided support for the project, research assistance, access to experts and resources. The involvement of Monash University underscores the importance of collaboration between academia and the creative industries in addressing complex global challenges such as climate change.

The Endangered Generation? is a Sweetshop & Green production presented by Screen Australia in collaboration with Monash University and in association with VicScreen, Melbourne International Film Festival Premiere Fund, The South Australian Film Corporation, Projector Films & VMLY&R, to be released in Australian cinemas by Bonsai Films. Producers are Gal Greenspan and Daniel Joyce.

The film then opens in selected cinemas on June 8 – including Cinema Nova Carlton and Dendy Cinemas Newtown (Sydney), Coorparoo (Brisbane), Southport (Gold Coast) and Canberra.
