Bringing Together 60 Women Producers in a No-Gatekeeping Industry Gathering

Screen Vixens, the national professional community supporting women independent screen producers, hosted its annual Screen Vixens & Friends Dinner during Screen Forever 2026 on the Gold Coast, with over 60 women from across the Australian screen industry in attendance.

Now a key fixture of the conference, the dinner brings together producers, creatives, practitioners and allies in an environment designed to be open, practical and genuinely inclusive – with a clear ethos of no gatekeeping and no hierarchy.

Founded by producer Leonie Marsh, Screen Vixens has grown into a national network focused on advancing gender parity in the screen sector through connection, knowledge-sharing and peer support.

“This dinner is about creating a space where women can connect honestly and practically; not perform, not pitch perfectly, but actually build relationships that move their work forward,” said Marsh.

The evening is designed to cut through traditional industry barriers, offering a relaxed setting where emerging and established producers can meet on equal footing, exchange insights and support each other’s projects.

Screen Vixens continues to advocate for greater gender equity across the Australian screen industry, with a focus on actionable support over rhetoric – from facilitating introductions and partnerships to sharing resources and real-world strategies for navigating production, finance and distribution.

“Leonie has created an incredibly valuable cohort of women and Screen Vixens plays a key role in championing female producers in today’s rapidly changing media landscape.” – Vixen Natalie Lynch

This year’s event is supported by a group of aligned partners, with curated “digital goodie bags” designed to add value without excess or waste. Participating partners include Hey Lemonade, Cinch Media and The Pilates Class contributing offers and experiences tailored to attendees.

The Screen Vixens & Friends Dinner takes place during Screen Forever 2026 on the Gold Coast and is now considered one of the most sought-after informal gatherings of the conference.
