Independent horror feature Dead Eyes heads to Fantastic Film Festival Australia this week, following its world premiere at SXSW and an Honourable Mention for Scariest Film at Brazil’s Fantaspoa.

Written, produced and directed by Richard E. Williams, Dead Eyes is a daring first person POV horror feature shot in the bushland of South East Queensland.

The film features Ana Thu Nguyen, fresh off the premiere of Mortal Kombat 2, alongside Mischa Heywood (Bring Her Back), Charles Cottier (The Demon Disorder), Rijen Laine (Tidelands), Alea O’Shea (Home and Away) and Stephen Phillips (Subject).

“We tried something crazy here with a fully POV horror film, and after the response at SXSW and getting honoured as the Scariest Film at Fantaspoa, I’m excited to bring it home,” Williams said. “This film is very Australian, and we didn’t tone that down for an international audience. The accents, the humour, the bushland, it’s all part of the texture of the film. I think genre audiences are going to eat it up.”

Produced independently, Dead Eyes will be distributed in Australia and New Zealand by Umbrella Entertainment.
