Love in the Moonlight will premiere free on YouTube on Sunday 26 April 2026, followed by a live Q&A broadcast direct from Hollywood, California.

When Melbourne actor, writer, and producer Cassidy Krygger first fell in love with The Ghost and Mrs. Muir, the beloved 1947 romantic fantasy starring Gene Tierney and Rex Harrison, she never imagined that one day she would create her own interpretation of that story.

Yet that is exactly what she has done.

Her new supernatural romantic comedy, Love in the Moonlight, inspired by that golden-age classic, will premiere to a global audience on Sunday 26 April 2026.

The film stars Matty Wilson, one of Australia’s most recognisable television actors, best known internationally for his decade-long role as Aaron Brennan on Neighbours, alongside Krygger herself, who wrote, produced, and stars in the project.

Love in the Moonlight was co-written, directed, and executive produced by filmmaker Jonathan Zsofi, Executive Director of the internationally recognised Cineverse Film Festival, which operates across cities around the world.

The result is a three-minute proof-of-concept screener designed to introduce audiences to the world of the film and build momentum toward a feature-length version currently in development.

Set between modern-day Melbourne and the glamour of Old Hollywood, the story blends romance, wit, and supernatural intrigue.

The screener follows Samantha, a driven Melbourne event manager who acquires a grand but long-abandoned country estate, only to find herself face-to-face with Jack Stirling, a 1950s Hollywood film star who has haunted its halls since his mysterious death in 1952.

Their first encounter is sharp, funny, and charged with an electricity neither of them can explain, and it marks the beginning of something neither expected.

“Old Hollywood romance films have always been an escape for me,” says Krygger. “Creating my own story inspired by a film as beloved as The Ghost and Mrs. Muir is a dream I’ve carried for a very long time. I’m incredibly proud that we’ve been able to bring it to life.”

For Krygger, Love in the Moonlight represents a deeply personal creative milestone. A passionate advocate for living a full life with disability, she has spoken openly about her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis, navigating ongoing hospital visits while simultaneously building one of the world’s largest classic Hollywood communities, writing a feature film, and producing and starring in its proof-of-concept screener.

Krygger is also the founder of Hollywoodland Photos, a social media community she built from the ground up into one of the world’s most celebrated classic Hollywood platforms, with over half a million followers across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook.

The community counts fans including Ariana Grande, Sharon Stone, Mariska Hargitay, and Lisa Rinna, meaning Love in the Moonlight arrives with a global audience already waiting.

Following the premiere, audiences will be invited to an exclusive Q&A conversation broadcast from Hollywood, California, hosted by classic film expert and broadcaster John Joseph, whose audience of nearly one million across Instagram and TikTok has made him one of the most respected voices in the modern classic-film community.

During the discussion, Joseph will speak with Krygger about the origins of Love in the Moonlight, its Old Hollywood inspirations, and the feature film currently in development.

“Having John Joseph involved means we can truly say this conversation is coming directly from Hollywood,” says Krygger. “For a film that lives and breathes in that world, that means everything.”

The proof-of-concept screener will premiere free on YouTube on Sunday 26 April 2026 at 1:00 PM AEST, with audiences able to reserve their seat now at:
