The ABC is thrilled to announce that internationally acclaimed actor Rupert Everett (My Best Friend’s Wedding) has joined the cast of ABC drama Fortitude Valley. Everett stars alongside First Nations actor Hunter Page‑Lochard (Reckless, The Newsreader) and beloved actress Kat Stewart (Offspring, Black Snow Season 2).

  • Filming is underway on the six-part suspenseful crime thriller, set in Queensland’s capital, the series explores family secrets, the corrupting force of power, and the complicated truths behind lies.
  • Shot on location across Brisbane, production spans the CBD, surrounding urban precincts and inner‑city suburbs of the river city.
  • Everett will play James Demming, a former Londoner who began making his mark as a property developer in Brisbane in the 1980s. Today, Demming’s immense wealth and influence have made him a political kingmaker — but has brought him under the scrutiny of a dogged police detective.
  • Everett is pictured with lead actor Hunter Page‑Lochard, who is also one of the writers & creators of the series.
  • Fortitude Valley will air on ABC TV and ABC iview in 2027.
