Filmed on location in Melbourne, Australia, this inspirational film portrays the migrant story of a couple and of a student as they struggle to adapt to life in Australia. As their lives entwine, each must adjust their inflated expectations and navigate their way through broken promises, failed jobs, discrimination, and abuse.
Writer and Director Mohanraj VJ drew on his own experiences when creating the film and had this to say: “When most of us think of life in a foreign country, we imagine life with a luxurious car, lots of money, a house with all the modern amenities. But, in reality, that’s not how it is. These people are all refugees forging a new identity, a new face for themselves. Trapped and struggling in this new, ever-changing world, they are prisoners of their time, of fate. This film is for those who bravely step into a new country, with hope, strength, and resolve. Kaazh is their story.”
The film features a raft of Australian and Indian talent, including the well-known Tamil actor and playback singer Yugendran Vasudevan (latest ‘Bigg Boss’ Tamil season 7), Kamal Krishna (Shantaram, La Brea), Mark Robert Walters (Night Shift, Faati Ne), Mimi Leonard (Guard), Siddarth Anbarasu (Nedunjalai, Naan Sigappu Manithan) and Ashwin Viswanathan (Raakshashi).
