The iconic masterpiece, originally released in 1997 and newly remastered in 4k, hits cinemas in Australia and New Zealand and on IMAX for the first time ever on Aug 21
Crunchyroll, the ultimate home for anime worldwide, announced today that Hayao Miyazaki’s epic masterpiece Princess Mononoke will return to cinemas in Australia and New Zealand on August 21, distributed by Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures Releasing International. Remastered in 4K and released in IMAX for the first time ever, the film is making a triumphant comeback to cinemas in both Japanese with English subtitles and dubbed in English.
Princess Mononoke, set in a mystical forest on the brink of destruction, follows a young warrior caught in the middle of a battle between ancient forest spirits and human threat.
The film is directed by Hayao Miyazaki with animation production from Studio Ghibli. The original story is by Hayao Miyazaki. The English dub cast features an acclaimed cast, including Gillian Anderson, Claire Danes, Billy Crudup, Minnie Driver, and Billy Bob Thorton. Run Time: 134 Mins
