Tickets on sale worldwide for the iconic movie’s remastered 4K 40th anniversary theatrical return, featuring a never-before-seen chapter after the credits

Every epic saga has a secret. As this journey ends, a new one begins.

Hasbro, a leading games, IP and toy company, in collaboration with Fathom Entertainment, the leading specialty distributor of content to theatrical partners worldwide, announced the 4K theatrical return of the original The Transformers: The Movie, with an all-new post-credits cinematic chapter of the Transformers story, created exclusively for the theatrical event.

Beginning September 17, 2026, on Transformers Day, one of the most influential animated films of the 1980s returns to theatres in stunning 4K. This time, however, the story doesn’t end when the credits roll. For the first time ever, audiences will experience an exclusive addition that gives longtime fans and newcomers alike one more reason to see the film together on the big screen.

More than a chance to revisit an animated classic, this is a one-of-a-kind moviegoing event. From the newly restored presentation to the exclusive new chapter waiting after the credits, every moment is designed to reward audiences who experience it together and stay through the very last frame.

As part of Hasbro’s “Apology Tour,” a year-long campaign acknowledging the death of Optimus Prime in The Transformers: The Movie, the theatrical experience is expanding globally, with screenings across Australia, giving fans everywhere the chance to be a part of Transformers history.

Fans counting down to the theatrical re-release can rock out to The Transformers: The Movie: The Soundtrack: The Reformatted Edition album, available now on major streaming platforms and vinyl, including the new single “Nothing’s Gonna Stand In Our Way” featuring Sebastian Bach, and its accompanying music video. Plus, shop Hasbro’s The Transformers: The Movie toy line, featuring The Matrix of Leadership premium electronic movie replica alongside Studio Series action figures inspired by the film.
