Central Coast Film Maker Stuart Edgeworth will travel to Los Angeles this month where his film Gut Instinct will compete in the biggest film festival of its kind in America.
Screamfest is the biggest and longest running horror film festival in America and plays over 10 days at the iconic TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood.
Stuart will travel to the festival to see his film screen in competition with film makers from around the world. He will also meet with producers and film executives to pitch other films.
“It’s a huge opportunity and it is amazing to have the chance to travel again and to literally rub shoulders with some of the best genre film makers in the world.”
Gut Instinct is a 10 minute thriller starring Charlotte Friels. Viewers might recognise Friels as the daughter of Australian screen icons Colin Friels and Judy Davis.
Gut Instinct has had a successful Film Festival season so far with official selections in over 20 festivals world wide including FilmQuest in Utah, New York Indie Shorts, San Francisco Short Film Fest, Madriff (Spain) and Atlanta Horror Film Festival amongst others.
Stuart also runs a successful film production company based in Surry Hills called Chuckmedia.co.
“I make commercial films to pay the bills but my real passion is dramatic film making. It’s a hard slog, but you have to enjoy the little wins along the way.”
Gut Instinct will screen at the Dendy Newtown as part of the ‘A Night of Horror’ Film Festival, at the Canberra Film Festival and the Melbourne Underground Film Festival all on this November.
