Service and Creative Skills Australia (SaCSA) has put a call out to the Arts and Creative Industries community, inviting contributions to the national conversation about the future of its workforce.
SaCSA wants to hear from people working across the performing arts, visual arts, craft and design; writing and publishing; digital games; screen and music industries who can share their journeys as part of SaCSA’s Scoping Creative Futures: Career Journey Mapping project.
SaCSA Chief Executive Officer Natalie Turmine said direct industry input was critical to improve visibility and understanding of creative work and career pathways.
“The lived experience of those working in these industries is so important – it helps us to map how careers begin and progress, common transition points and challenges, skill development pathways and also barriers to attraction and retention.
SaCSA is inviting expressions of interest from people at all stages of their career, whether they are an emerging practitioner, a senior leader, freelancers or mid-career professionals. People who previously worked in the industry are also invited to participate.
The work areas and roles still open to EOIs include:
• Performing Arts: First Nations Organisation Management; First Nations Performing Arts Production; Festival Creative Production; Stage Management; Tour Production and Live Performance Design
• Visual Arts / Craft / Design: First Nations Organisation Management; First Nations Curator; Festival Creative Production; Exhibition Production and Visual Artist (Regional/Rural)
• Writing / Publishing: First Nations Organisation Management; Festival Creative Production; Sales; Publishing Production; Illustration & Design and Editorial Practice
• Digital Games: Game Arts; Game Production and Game Design
• Screen: First Nations Organisation Management; Access Coordination; Production Accounting; Technical Direction and Visual Effect / VFX.
