The trailer for the independent sci-fi thriller, which pays tribute to women empowerment, has been released in anticipation of their private red carpet screening on Tuesday 27th at Ritz Cinemas, Randwick, with limited ticketing available.
BOX:METAPHOR is director Kevin Khachan’s third feature following his success within the European film market with the films Red Rabbit Lodge and Remnants.
BOX:METAPHOR follows a female protagonist (Prisoner 9173) who is trapped in an iron box, victimised and tortured for several years for a crime she did not commit. Through the narrow opening in the Box, we get a glimpse into an abstract dystopian world. A metaphor for societal constructs and preconceptions that bind us all.
The film is a cross between The Cube (1997) and Escape from Alcatraz (1979).
Box: Metaphor is set in a dystopian world, having a similar aesthetic to The Hunger Games franchise. The stunning cinematography by Jason Von Drayco is accompanied by a mesmerising score that enhances the viewer experience.
BOX:METAPHOR stars one of the former E Street regulars Lorry D’Ercole, who is now turning to the silver screen. The film is led and co-produced by Kasia Stelmach who can be seen in The Great Gatsby and most recently Ten Pound Poms.
BOX: METAPHOR Red Carpet Screening is on Tuesday, 27th June. 5:30 pm red carpet arrivals for a 6:30 pm program commence.
