After winning the inaugural AASP Association of Adaptive Surfing professionals world tour in September, blind surfer Matt Formston received a phone call that will change his destiny and have his name written in the history books; big wave legend Dylan Longbottom and crew will take Matt to Nazare, Portugal, where he will attempt to charge the biggest wave ever ridden by a blind surfer.
The Blind Sea is a feature documentary on the life story of 3x ISA World Champion blind surfer and Paralympic Cyclist Matt Formston.
At the age of five, Matt lost 95% of his vision. Determined to lead a fulfilling life, Matt’s parents gave him the tools to take back control of his life, becoming a highly successful corporate executive, Paralympian, World Champion, World Record Holder and World Cup Gold Medalist in Tandem

Directed by Daniel Fenech of Brick Studios, the feature length documentary is being produced by Heath Davis, Erin Fenech and Nicola Nossal, with Cinematography by Chris Bland ACS. The film commenced shooting in 2021 in Australia, Fiji and Indonesia and is due to be released in 2023.
