Today is opening day of the biennial Birrarangga Film Festival (BFF), which returns to Melbourne for the fourth time – curated by Artistic Director Tony Briggs, an acclaimed actor, writer, and creator of The Sapphires— who is dedicated to showcasing powerful Indigenous storytelling from across the globe.
A major highlight of BFF is a groundbreaking cinema event taking place this Sunday, March 16 at NANT Studios at Docklands, – the Árran 360° program, a first-of-its-kind showcase of 11 immersive short films by leading Sámi filmmakers from across Sápmi, all presented on a 360° screen. In partnership with the International Sámi Film Institute and NANT Studios, this is a rare chance to experience Indigenous storytelling through cutting-edge technology. In attendance as guests of BFF and participating in a Q&A are:
Maria Utsi: Arran 360 Project Manager
Arran 360
Liselotte Wajstedt: Eadni/Mother;
Marja Helander: Afruuva/ Mermaid
Arran 360 2.0
