They said that the oldies were the only ones that went to the movies, then they said that comedy is back, and finally that horror had come for the kids and made going to the movies cool again. Well, if this week’s new releases are anything to go by – Holy Days, Super Troopers 3, Ice Cream Man and Teenage Sex and Death at Campi Miasma are anything to go by, then franchises, superheroes and family films still well and truly rule the roost in these parts. That being said, there is so much more to the box office alchemy than simply being a certain type of film.
