In addition to the day to day running of AIFC business, Vyas will lead the team to execute and deliver a wide range of on line and in person events which include discussions, knowledge series, brainstorming sessions, and masterclasses which will serve the purpose of strengthening all aspects of film links between Australia and India from development through to distribution.

The AIFC plays an important role in fostering cultural and economic collaboration between Australia, India and Bollywood – the biggest film industry in the word – a position strengthened by the recent announcement by the Australian government of the Maitri grants and fellowships program between Australia and India .

AIFC will be participating in round tables with Indian authorities and practitioners at Cannes this month.

Khushaal Vvyas Bio

Khushaal is a young lawyer from Western Sydney with a history of social justice and diversity advocacy. For his youth advocacy and developing initiatives working with disadvantaged communities in Western Sydney and regional NSW he was awarded the Premier’s Multicultural Youth Medal and recognised as the Australian Student Leader of the Year. Since then, Khushaal has continued his advocacy on diversity, representation and discrimination issues in his capacity as a solicitor and freelance journalist having published regular pieces across a variety of known media channels and was recognised as a Finalist for Young Journalist of the Year at the PMCA Awards. He has been selected as an Australia Day Ambassador since 2018 and has worked with a variety of government agencies as a community consultant on multicultural engagement. He is an extremely passionate advocate for greater collaboration between the Australian and Indian film industries and the opportunities such collaboration brings to both nations.
