On the eve of the feeding frenzy that is the Cannes Film Festival, Sydney made feature film Pimped has announced that it has secured an International Sales Agent in Toronto based Raven Banner Entertainment, and a local distributor in Bonsai Films (Scare Campaign, Emo the Musical).
Pimped follows a psychological cat and mouse game between characters played by exciting local actors Ella Scott Lynch (Love Child, The Code) and Benedict Samuel (The Walking Dead, Gotham) and has been described as a transgressive thriller set during one killer night.

“Seeing Pimped start to gain traction both here and overseas is pleasant reward for the past three years of grind. We’ve invested much into this film, cash-flowing from savings, along with some generous other folk. Plus, we’re extremely fortunate to have such talented people involved in bringing this story to life. The cast is a knockout. When you finally begin to see the creation gaining allies, being released into the stratosphere, it’s brilliant. And somewhat of a relief,” says Barker.
Pimped is produced by Playground Films, Barker’s production company, and Annie Kinnane.
Pimped is set for a late 2018/early 2019 local release.
