Here’s your first look at Martin Freeman (The Hobbit, Sherlock Holmes) and his tiny co-star in Cargo, currently shooting in South Australia. Based on the Tropfest-finalist short of the same name, the movie sees Freeman as a father trying to find sanctuary for his infant before he succumbs to the pandemic that has decimated the world (we don’t know why they’re being coy about it, but it’s totally zombies). Yolande Ramke writes and also co-directs with Ben Howling, and the supporting cast includes the great David Gulpilil, Anthony Hayes, Caren Pistorius, Susie Porter and Simone Landers.
The original short is now the most-watching clip on the Tropfest YouTube channel, racking up more than 10 million views. You can bump that number up a bit by checking it out here:
