Writer and director Ben Young and actress Emma Booth, who last collaborated on the stunning thriller Hounds of Love and whose next film, the sci-fi drama Extinction, is due out later this year, have been named as ambassadors to the Revelation Perth International Film Festival.
The pair will lend their profiles and passion to promote the festival both in Australia and abroad.
“Our aim is to develop the most collaborative, critical and positive film industry and broader community in WA and it’s a real pleasure to have such potent and diverse voices from the state help us do that on the local, national and international stage,” said Festival director Richard Sowada.
“I got my start in Perth, and it makes me very happy to continue to being a part of the Western Australian film industry,” Booth said. “We have a depth of talent in WA, and I am excited to be part of an international platform from here in Perth.”
“Revelation was the first film festival that I ever attended,” Young added. “I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of it.”
Dates for the 2018 Revelation Festival will be announced soon.
