Sundance TV has pulled the trigger on another season of Hap and Leonard. James Purefoy and Michael K. Williams will return as the titular twosome, solving crimes and busting heads in early ’80s east Texas. Yay!

As hinted at in the closing moments of season one (reviewed here) the new season seems to be based on Mucho Mojo, the second book in author Joe Lansdale’s series, which sees the pair investigating foul deeds after discovering the corpse of a child under the floorboards of Leonard’s uncle’s house. Mayhem ensues, and keeps on ensuing. And Brian Dennehy shows up! That’s always a plus.

Hap and Leonard is set for a mid-March return in the US – hopefully Foxtel/Showcase will bring it back to our screens around the same time.
